Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I was never really happy with myself because of my weight. I always felt that people seen my weight before they seen the real me.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Buying clothes and not having alot of energy to keep up with my kids.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

How did you first find out about bariatric surgery and what were your initial impressions of it?

When it became popular a few years ago and initially it scared me to death.

What was your stay in the hospital like? How long where you there? What things are most important to bring?

The hospital stay was okay. I was there 7 days

Did you have any complications from the surgery? If so, how did you deal with them?

Yes, I vomited blood for 2 1/2 days and kept slipping in and out of a coma and needed to have two blood transfusions.They finally realized it was the blood thinner.

In the weeks after you got your surgery date, how did you feel? How did you cope with any anxiety you might have felt?

I am only 12 days out right now, but I have very little pain and I am just tired.

What aftercare support group/program do you have? How helpful/important is this?

There are groups available but I just do not have the time right now.

What is your scar like? Is this what you expected?

It goes from my navel to my breast bone, Yes I expected it to be like that.

Please describe any plateau experiences you have had since surgery.

Yes I hit a plateau a week ago and it lasted a whole week, but I am loosing again now.

Do you notice people treating you any differently now?

Yes, some family members and some people at my job.
