Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I was always overweight as a kid, my whole life that is all that I could remember. I think that mostly it was being broad and emotional eating were something that really effected to me. I was pushing 400 pounds and was only 19 years old.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

Being really overweight at 19 is that people judge you very much. I was starting to become imobile and having a hard time just doing the basic things. I was super scared that I was slowly killing myslef

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

I have had 3 baratric procdures, I started with the lapband in 2008, Sleeve Gastrectomy in 2011, and Gastric Bypass in 2012. It really has been a really long road for me as far as this yes I have lost close to 175 pounds. But I have also had many complications that have made for many revisons. but things that I am able to do that I was not before is sitting in one seat on the airplane, walking everywhere, being around family more often
