Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.
Well, I have been over weight since my mid 20's. I smoked up until I was about 30 years old and then I decided to quit. Since then I have gained over 100 lbs and have had no real success of keeping my weight off. I did at one point do weight watchers for a few months and lost about 50lbs. But once I began working more I had no time to commit to me, I gained it all back in a few short months. Now I have high blood pressure and I have more time for me, I am taking my life in my own hands and am going for RNY gastric bypass surgery in September 2013.
What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?
The worst thing for me is feeling overweight. The heaviness, the awkwardness. Not being able to cross my legs, bend over all the way without my tummy being in the way. Sweating by just walking around the mall..ugh it is always a problem being over weight. I didnt mind the my looks, I honestly didnt mind the clothes I had to wear, but its just the little things I couldnt do or didnt want to do because of my weight.
If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?
I have not had surgery yet. I just started my pre-op diet today 8/26/13.
