Obesity & Me

Describe your behavioral and emotional battle with weight control before learning about bariatric surgery.

I would say I had no clue about portions. At my worst I could eat three full meals per day. I also felt like I had to eat before going anywhere where food would not be available. It was like I was afraid of starving.

What was (is) the worst thing about being overweight?

The worst thing, the reason I am losing the weight, is the medical issues that occur. I was fat for 20 years, got my gallbladder out, and it seems to have gone downhill since then.

If you have had weight loss surgery already, what things do you most enjoy doing now that you weren't able to do before?

Being able to stay awake without taking or wanting to take three naps per day. I had type 2 diabetes and zero energy.
