The Food Biz: Fast-food proximity speeds up stroke risk
The American Heart Association is again chiming in on the menu labeling issue currently being proposed by the Metro Public Health Department.
Adding to its case for the proposal, the AHA released a study from the American Stroke Association.
According to the report, neighborhoods with the highest numbers of fast food restaurants ?had a 13 percent higher relative risk of suffering ischemic strokes than those living in areas with the lowest numbers of restaurants.? Further the report asserts that the relative risk of stroke increased 1 percent for each fast-food restaurant in a neighborhood. Click here for full article.
