I really liked Dr. Bruce the first time I met him. He was very kind and patient with all of the questions I had. The information about before and aftercare, I was very impressed with.

Dr. Bruce was very nice, made me feel comfortable when I first met him. Nothing has changed. Office staff is okay. I do like talking to Jean the best. She has had surgery herself. They have group meetings unfortunatly I am unable to attend on the
scheduled nights.

Dr. Bruce works in conjunction with Dr. Allison Clarey. They at times do their surgeries together but most are apart. Before seeing the doctor you are required to attend a 1 hour seminar which gives all details of the surgery with lots of information and paperwork to take home to review and you are allowed to ask questions at the end. The paperwork that you take home includes authorizations, medical release forms and pre-op and post-op information. At this point you would know whether you are ready to take the second step which is scheduling your first appointment. Dr. Bruce was kind and his willingness to help me on my journey made my decision easy. The office staff appears to be well informed and organized.

I really liked Dr. Bruce from the moment I met him, he was very caring and understanding to my problem. Dr. Bruce took the time to answer any questions I had and discuss the risks and rewards of having the surgery.

(Written 10-25-02) I had my first appt. August 1, 2002 after attending their slide presentation on July 25, 2002. All my information was turned in on my past attempts of dieting and my medical history from my PCP and myself. They submitted the information for me and 10 weeks later I was advised that I was approved. Their ofc scheduled a pulmonary and echocardiogram appt.

I have met both Clarey at the slide presentation and Bruce at the 8/1/02 appt. They both seem friendly, knowledgable and experienced.

I have met many of their former patients who are doing well. I am happy at this point.

(April 2003): Just a note to say I continue to think my surgeons (Bruce & Clarey) are wonderful people and surgeons. I do not feel that their follow-up is very thorough. I don't get asked any questions and given an post-op pointers. When I slow them down and ask, I feel the answers are vague. Therefore, I am grateful for this board.

I met with Dr. Bruce on 3/27/03 and was very impressed with him. He answered all my questions and I didn't feel rushed at all.
The office staff was very friendly.

My first impression of Dr. Bruce was mmm so-so,only because he is soft spoken and didn't come in with tons of personality, but believe me he is a very good Dr. and knows exactly what he is doing. His staff is a wealth of information and incredibly helpful and most are personally knowledgable. Very kind and never to busy to talk and answer ANY question. Dr. Bruce is also a very knowlegable and personalble once you get to know him a little better. But I also, really liked Dr. Martin, one of their surgical residence, he is incredibly kind and understanding and is so willing to answer any question and is truly one of the most kind and understanding Dr.'s I've had the pleasure of meeting and dealing with. He is the one I seen and dealt with while I was in the hospital. He never failed to noticed when the hospital was neglecting my care and was prompt to correct it and make me feel at ease about the remaindor of my stay! Very good Dr., and I sincerley hope that with age and experience he does not change, he is wonderful! I think the after-care program has been great and supportive so far. The pre-meeting, I felt Dr. Bruce was very up-front and honest in the complication and risk of the surgery and was willing to answer any question I had. All in all the Bruce Clarey team is an A1#1 team!!!!

I met Dr.Clarey first and I just thought she was the sweetest lady.I met Dr.Bruce a little later,He is very nice also.Both of them have eally great personalitities and made me feel good.As the days went by I grew even more confident in the Dr.s and the staff.Valerie, I came to rely on quite frequently and never once did she complain that I was bothering her(I was very excited and called her many times).THERE IS NOTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT DR.CLAREY OR DR.BRUCE.Future parients should just be patient it will happen soon, go to the seminars, testing and the psc.evalauation if needed PATIENCE that is the only thing to worry about.I actually got approved in the first part of JANUARY (o2) and had the surgery The 30th of the same month.Time flew by as did my excitement.I do advise future patients to EAT WHAT YOU LOVE THE WEEK BEFORE.HAHA.The aftercare was exciting and encouraging just to see how much you already lost.They were helpful and informative.They have a great after care program and they help you in any way they can.I was explained the risks of surgery but I had Faith in my Dr.s and was not worried at all.I would rate them a 10+ they are awesome, sweet caring people who REALLY CARE ABOUT YOU!!Their care was great before during and after surgery the are in my opinion the best FREIND a overweight person could have.THANK YOU DRs.CLAREY AND BRUCE.

I have been confortable with Dr. Bruce since the first time we talked during a intro. meeting he held. He has taken great care of me and is staff is very good, the office is a very busy place and sometimes I have had to wait for my appt. but I'm happy with my choice of doctors. Bed side was fine and his staff at the hospital took good care of me and I look forward to visiting them when I get my weight down more.

Dr. Bruce was ruuning late on the day of our first appointment. He was rushing to catch up, but when I asked specific questions he calmed right down and gave me detailed answers.
His office staff is very laid back. Not
stuffy and crabby like in some offices I've been to.
They made me get clearance from a cardiologist and a pulmonologist. I was afraid I couldn't get into see them in time, but Dr. Bruce's staff set it all up for me.
This was a big help.
