About Dr. Egan Dr. Ashley Egan, certified by the American Board of Surgery, practices at Rockwall Surgical Specialists, where she provides the full array of general and bariatric surgery procedures. Dr. Egan’s patients in Rowlett and Rockwall, Texas, benefit from her specialty in laparoscopic surgery, whether they need thyroid surgery, a hernia repair, weight loss surgery, or any other type of surgical intervention.   Dr. Egan graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia, then completed medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. She stayed in Dallas to finish her internship and residency training in general surgery at the Baylor University Medical Center.   Throughout her education, Dr. Egan served in leadership positions and received numerous awards, scholarships, and honors, including SEC Student Athlete of the Year. She was the starting goalkeeper on the University of Georgia soccer team during her college years. She has enjoyed transitioning her competitiveness and desire to improve from the soccer field into the operating room.   Outside of work, Dr. Egan enjoys playing golf, crossfit, and cooking. Most of all, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Rick, and son Thomas.
