Daniel Campos, MD is a highly-regarded bariatric surgeon practicing in Coahuila, Mexico. He is board-certified and serves as Director and Chief Surgeon at Obesity Care Group (Centro de Obesidad y Cirugía Laparoscópica), one of the leading obesity centers in northern Mexico. Dr. Campos is also in charge of the Surgery Division at Hospital Angeles Torreón, part of Mexico's largest private hospital network.

Dr. Campos earned his medical degree at the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila (UAC) and completed an internship in general surgery at the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) Clínica and a second internship in social service at the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) Centro de Salud Rural No. 33. He then completed a residency in general surgery at the Hospital de Especialidades Centro Médico del Noroeste No. 2. Dr. Campos went on to receive international specialized training in bariatric surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Florida, specialized training in laparoscopic surgery at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas and specialized training in trauma surgery at the Shock Trauma Center, Maryland University in Baltimore. He also earned a certification in bariatric nutrition at Hospital Angeles Pedregal

Dr. Campos is a member of several prestigious professional organizations including the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), the Mexican College for Obesity and Metabolic Diseases (CMCOEM), the Mexican Association of General Surgery (AMCG), the Mexican Association of Endoscopic Surgery (AMCE), has been a Subdelegate of the State of Coahuila, and a member of the Mexican Association of Gastroenterology (AMG).

Dr. Campos has served as a professor to doctors nationally and to thousands of students in hundreds of bariatric and laparoscopic surgery training courses. He has presented in numerous conferences as a speaker and leading expert on these same topics. He served as the Head of the General Surgery Department of the Mexican Social Security Institute (Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social - IMSS) Clínica No. 16 Torreón for 21 years.
