(My body's changing but the messy bun is forever. Lol)
Thank you Dr. Kelly! The sleeve has been the best decision I ever made for myself. I didn't get sleeved to lose weight. I can lose weight and I have, over and over again and every time I put it back on. I chose the sleeve to help me keep the weight off for good this time! The balance I've gained in my life with diet and exercise in the last 10 weeks is unbelievable. I have never felt better. Goodbye, yo-yo dieting and hello forever healthy LIFESTYLE, the future looks nothing but bright.
I am stronger, faster and fitter than ever before and I feel like I'm just getting started. My only regret is not doing it sooner. Dr. Kelly, I am so thankful that you do what you do and forever grateful for my sleeve and this life its helped me achieve.
210 lbs on the left Sept 2017. 133 lbs on the right July 2018. Sleeved Sept 22, 2017.
I wanted to post an update for anyone considering getting the sleeve or just recently post OP. This is what 10 months post VSG can look like when you put in the work. VSG has been the absolute greatest thing I have ever done for myself. It was exactly what I needed to ditch the yo-yo dieting and take control of my health and fitness. I feel like a whole new person and each day just gets better.
I wanted to tell Dr. Jaime Ricardo Ramos thank you so much for changing my life. It's been over 3 yrs since my gastric sleeve surgery and I have lost over 240 pounds!! I've had a very rough past few months since having plastics to remove excess skin but am finally feeling human again and thankful to be alive and getting strong and healthy again!! Again thank you, Dr Kelly, for giving me the tool I needed to lose the weight and regain my life!!
I am now 3.5 years post op.
My HW 222 lbs, LW 135 lbs, and my CW is 160 lbs and maintaining. It is definitely a lot harder 3 years out to maintain. I have gained a few lbs back but I refuse to gain any more. I still watch what I eat and exercise every day. It's a lot harder to lose weight this far out. Although I am past that part of my journey. Now I aim for continuously living a healthy life style. I never met my goal weight but TBH my goal weight was unrealistic. I may still be a little on the thicker side but I am thick in all the right places! I have learned to love my body, which has been life changing! - Thanks Dr. Jaime Ricardo Ramos Kelly for everything! — Christina R
I am doing well and have maintained most of my weight loss.
I reached 128# and maintained that until year 3.
I'm now at 138# and have remained at that weight for a year.
I have come to believe that WLS has a metabolic effect as it is now extremely difficult to drop any weight even at exceptionally low calorie or carb levels. But I am still happy that I decided to have my surgery with Dr. Kelly.
All of my weight associated health problems resolved, and I have lived life more than I ever could have. I've backpacked 110 miles in 10 days, I workout every day. I kayak and go on rope courses. My higher confidence is evident and I've even returned to college in my 40s to become a lawyer. I can't give Dr. Kelly any higher praise for saving my life.
I've researched and kept to my plan and healthy lifestyle pretty well and managed my own follow-up and maintenance without any real medical assistance.
Please extend my gratitude to Dr. Ramos-Kelly.
Best regards,
Ch
