My first impression of Dr. Maguire was that he really wanted to help us out and that he had very specific ideas of what was best about each of the procedures available.
My impression of him changed only in that I grew to like him more and more as I got to know him...he really seemed happy for ME as my weight loss continued.
Dr. Maguire's office staff is great, especially Sally. They are all willing to answer questions that you might have, and I was always amazed that they remembered
me from month to month.
Dr Maguire was a bit intimidating at first... but he is a wonderful and kind man. I saw hin EVERY DAY I was in the hospital. My friends and I have jokingly referred to him as "Father Maguire" as sometimes going to see him is like going to the confessional!! He is very concerned with all aspects of care, and if you are not sharing how you LIFE is going freely, he will ask! I can not recommend him highly enough!!!
At my first meeting with Dr.Maguire he put me at ease. I felt he was open and he answered all of my 42 questions.
He went over a sheet ,he gave me, that detailed all the risk,benefits,treatments,pre-op and aftercare. Kim, his personal
assistant, answered any questions I had about the stay in the hosp. Since I'm self-pay I went to the adjoining hosp.
and paid up front for the surgery to be on Oct.10th.,this had to be done as soon as possible to hold that date.
I also paid Dr. Maguire 1/2 of his fee. The anesthesiologist is paid after the surgery, they bill.
I was impressed with the hosp. they were very efficient when I went to register! I feel very comfortable
there and feel it is a good decision at this time.
MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR. MCGUIRE WAS GOOD. WHEN I ATTENDED THE ORIENTATION MEETING FOR BARIATRIC SURGERY, DR. MCGUIRE WAS THOROUGH IN LETTING EVERYONE KNOW THE DIFFERENT SURGERIES HE PERFORMS, THE RISKS, AND HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO FOLLOW-UP AFTER SURGERY. AFTER HE WAS FINISHED EXPLAINING EVERYTHING, HE OPENED THE FLOOR FOR QUESTIONS. I COULD TELL THAT HE WAS A VERY CARING PERSON AND WANTED TO HELP PEOPLE THAT WERE OBESE. I HAD NO DOUBTS AFTER THE ORIENTATION THAT DR.MCGUIRE WAS THE ONE I WANTED TO PERFORM MY SURGERY.
My first impression of Dr. Maguire was that he appeared to be very reserved and quiet. I am very outgoing, so I didn't know how I felt about his personality. After sitting through his consultation I felt that he was very thorough in his explanation, and I felt better about obtaining the information he provided. My experience with the office staff has been a good one. They are always willing to help me with whatever I need help with. I feel like I have made an excellent choice for a surgeon.
