Leonard Fichter Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

I have heard great things about Dr. Fichter's ability. He is suppose to great at what he does. I am at ease with his skill level. His office staff is superb. They have been very kind to me and I feel they have tried to expedite everything possible. Overall my experience so far with him and the office staff has been very good. Be prepard to wait when visiting his office.

Dr. Leonard Fichter is the surgeon who will be performing my gastric bypass surgery if I am approved by insurance. He completed my gall bladder surgery five years ago. My first impression of Dr. Fichter is that he was very competent and knowledgeable about the procedure. He informed me that he trained under the surgeon that originated this type of procedure. Five years after my gall bladder surgery my opinion of him is still the same. Dr. Fichter is also patient, honest, and takes the time to explain everything and to listen to any questions or concerns you may have. His office staff is well organized, competent, and very friendly. The only negative thing that I can state about Dr. Fichter is that sometimes you aren't seen at your exact appointment time. But I believe that is partially due to him wanting to take enough time with each patient individually. Future patients should be aware that he insists on you being evaluated by a psychiatrist, cardiologist, physical therapist, and dietician prior to making his decision if you should have the surgery. I am very impressed with Dr. Fichter's aftercare program. He has a team consisting of the above named medical professionals who work with him and each gastric bypass patient. During the first consult meeting I had with Dr. Fichter he addressed in detail the serious risks involved in having the surgery performed. Overall I believe Dr. Fichter is an excellent surgeon of the highest caliber. He is surgically competent but also has a wonderful bedside manner. Again, this will be the second time I will have put my life into his hands. I have no qualms recommending Dr. Fichter to anyone who is considering having this procedure done.
