Megan Jenkins, MD is a minimally invasive surgeon specializing in robotics, advanced laparoscopy, bariatrics, and general surgery. She is from Upstate New York and graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and math. She completed medical school and general surgery residency training at New York University. This prestigious surgical training program provided intense exposure not only to a broad spectrum of disease but also to the latest and continually emerging technology. Training with master minimally invasive surgeons, Dr. Jenkins has adopted the philosophy that most surgical problems can be addressed using small incisions, resulting in less pain and a faster recovery.

Furthermore, inspired by her background in engineering and her interest in continuing to provide the best care, Dr. Jenkins is on the cusp of surgical innovation with her utilization of robotic-assisted surgery. More than anything she is excited to be part of a patient’s journey and develop a patient-doctor relationship based on trust and communication with a common goal of exceptional outcomes.

As an assistant professor of surgery at NYU Langone Health and a member of the NYU Langone Weight Management Program, Dr. Jenkins is actively involved in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery research. She is also devoted to resident education and making sure that the next generation of surgeons is well equipped to continue the tradition of excellent care at NYU Langone Health.
