    Mohammad Jamal received his MD from Aga Khan University in Pakistan in 1997. He completed his surgical residency training as well as an Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship from the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He served as a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery in the Department of Surgery at University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, Iowa City, Iowa, before coming to Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center to lead a Surgical Weight Loss Center. Dr. Jamal's areas of interest include minimally invasive weight reduction surgery, laparoscopic management of gastroesophageal reflux disease and other diseases of the foregut, endocrine and solid organ surgery and laparoscopic treatment of abdominal wall hernias. Dr. Jamal has published extensively on clinical and patient-care aspects of Obesity Surgery and holds authorship of several book chapters and manuscripts on its management. He is a member of several societies, including the American College of Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, American Medical Association, Iowa Medical Society and Medical Society of Virginia.

    He was great. He scolded me firmly as I needed it for not taking better care of myself previously. He was also able to proceed with what was supposed to be a routine revision, but ended up being a disaster and continue the process laparoscopically More...
