I was very impressed with Dr. Foote at my consultation. He was very professional but very personable at the same time. I feel very comfortable with him doing the surgery. He is fairly new at doing the surgeries but has been trained by the best in Grand Rapids and worked alongside both Dr. Scholten and Dr. Baker. He was very thorough and made me very comfortable.I would rate his bedside manner a 10++. He also told me his mother in law had gastric bypass surgery.
post surgery........ what can I say? Dr. Foote is Wonderful!!! He takes every precaution and is very thorough. I am so glad I went with him even though he hasn't done a lot of surgeries yet by himself, he is sooooo competent!

The hospital staff were wonderful. They dealt with Bariatric patients only. They knew how to relate to a larger patient. Very caring and supporting staff.

The daytime staff were better than the night time staff.

I thought North Ottawa Community Hospital was wonderful. Very clean, and they had the larger gowns, etc. so I never felt uncomfortable. Pain medication was there for the asking and the nurses were wonderful. My family was very comfortable there and everyone accomodated them.

Overall, I was very impressed with the North Ottawa Community Hospital. The rooms were very nice. I would rate the nursing staff as very good to excellent - the one exception being one of the night RN's gave me drinks with straws when apparently straws aren't to be used for several months. The LPN's (care practicioners)were excellent.

The one glaring weakness at North Ottawa for me was the use of one internist for all its bariatric patients. I don't think this doctor was fully aware of my specific needs. I don't blame the doctor necessarily, but recognize his case load for pre and post op patients was high. I do think that another internist should be used to dedicate more time individually to patients.

They are located close to SW MI. They have Volunteers that will valet park your care and go out and get it, meeting you at the main entrance (FREE) The staff are quick - there doesn't appear to be a shortage at all. The place is quite but busy. Very Clean. The nicest I have stayed at!

The hospital staff in the BTC unit were impecable. They treated you as a person and not just another patient. I would refer everyone who is considering having this surgery in Michigan to have it at NOCH.
