Colette DeMonte Psychologist PsyD

  • About Me
Colette DeMonte, PsyD, earned a doctorate in psychology and is one of few psychologists specializing in bariatric surgery. As a central part of the care team, Colette meets with patients at the beginning of their weight-loss journeys to help them determine if bariatric surgery is right for them. Then, she helps prepare patients for surgery by providing education and resources to support them throughout the pre- and post-operative periods. Away from work she enjoys crafting, hiking and trying new restaurants. Treatment philosophy: "We are continuously in motion toward progress. In attempts to maintain our momentum, difficult choices may need to be made to be considered. Sometimes we get stuck when we find ourselves paralyzed by the fear of making the wrong choice. As a provider, I work alongside patients to discover the path that is right for them. Together we explore their values and strengths, which informs the decision-making process. Ultimately, the patient recognizes the choice that aligns with what is important to them." ObesityHelp Contributing Author How to Eliminate the Guilt from Being Off Track and Weight Regain
