Doctors in Calgary Area for Lap Banding

Hi Could anyone tell me about dr's in calgary area doing lap banding and also wait time and any other info about the dr's Thank you

Hi there, The only doctor i know of in Calgary who is doing lap band surgery is Dr. Jean-Gaston DesCoteaux - through the Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Weight Management Centre in Calgary. You have to get your GP to fill out a Diabeties form and get them to write the words Weight Managment Clinic on the top. The fax number is 943-2447. The Phone number is 943-2611. Once you get the referral faxed to them, it will take about 4 months to get an appointment to see them. There are many steps to go through before you are approved. In all it will take about 2 years or so. Because of the weight (pun intended) time I am having my surgery performed in Ontario at the Surgical Weight Loss Clinic at a personal cost of $16,000.
