Being Charged for Appointments

Hey just wondering if anyone can shed some light on the Weight Wise Clinic in Edmonton. I just had my first appointment a few weeks ago and today I received a bill from AHS for $288 for an "out patient appointment". I was under the impression that this was covered, will there be charges for every appointment? What will I have to pay for surgery? Any knowledge would be helpful!

My family doctor sent in the referral, I'm not sure why it went to Edmonton, the nurse I met with thought she might have sent it to Edmonton because she thought it would be faster. But it is from AHS it's not like I went to another province...
