I am on my 6 year journey with my lap band and I am doing GREAT.
I haven't been on here in a long time but I am going on...My walking isn't as much because I have had 2 hip replacements so I can't walk as far as I used to.

Not sure if this helps but Hartford Hosp has a support group that is really good. Dr tishler and his group run it.It is usally the 3rd Tues of the month.

Hi I llive in Vernon..I weighted 325 in '11/06 when I decided I needed a change. I started dieting then and started looking into weightloss surgeries..I decided on lapband In Jan.'07 I went to Dr. Tishler at hartford Hospital..My first weight there was 297 so I did lose some after all the tests The day of surgery I was 267 then I received the best gift in my life MY LAPBAND 4/30/07 now I weight 168 I love my band.. I went from size 24-14 OMG I was never size 14. I had a problem with the band being to tight so on 2/8/11 they took out fluid and found out I had inflamationo around the band.So they took out 2 cc. from 7 cc Now I really have to watch what I eat because i don't want to gain to much. So please send prayers to me right now. I love meeting new people too. Good luck to you all We can all use new friends who are going on the same journey.

Hi I just had a hip replacement at Hartford Hospital I saw Dr. Mark Shekhman very nice down to earth. I am sure they maybe able to help and if not an tell you who to see. Good luck by the way I am 58 so I understand where she is coming from.

Congrads. on your new job and apt. and yes even the divorce..I live in Vernon and if you would like to meet feel free to check out my profile and contact me...Right now I am home due to having a left hip replacement on Aug 11th at Hartford Hosp. and then went to Woodlake for rehab and now home. Your new body and future is going the right way and you will make it.. It does work better when the divorce goes through and you are still firends it helps and helps the children no matter what age to see their folks can still get along Good luck and have fun fixing up your new place and image..Joanneg

HI I am so glad you wrote Yes Adam did do y evaluations and he did let me know he knew someone who had the lapband...He is soooo nice and very friendly...He also was training a new member of the staff with me her name is Lindsey.. I oved working with both of them. They worked around my schedule because as you probably know the lapband can be it's own ruler and we have to listen to it.. some days are early and other days wait and wait and wait.. Then the medications can cause a problem and now let's talk about the food yeah more waiting. But yes I am fine the operation it's self took instead of 2-4 hours 6 hours soooo it's done and I am doing great...You can be very proud of your brother he is a great person...Please feel free to write to me pleae add me as your friend Joanneg

Hi Everyone I just want to give you an update on my health..Most of you know that I have now lost 135 lbs. I am now having hip problems it turns out I need left hip replacement surgery on August 11, well they found out through blood test that I may have an infection in that hip and so on Monday I have to go to Hartford Hospital and have fluid taken out of the left hip to see if there is infection...by the way they take the fluid out by a looooong needle then they will let me know if my surgery date will need to be changed or not... (I just got the call there is no infection and the surgery is still on for Aug 11 I will be in HH until the Friday Aug.14th then I will be going into Woodlake Nursing home for 10 days - 2 weeks for the Rehab....

Well Here is an update an my health...today I had a bone scan and I will be having a lot of blood work next week and then on August 11 th I will be having the left hip replacement done, At Hartford Hospital. Because I have 7 rips and 3 spots that are grinding, then by the following weekend going into the rehab center ..after that I will be going home to improve and I will be going back to work the end of September. I am going to try to explain the FOREVER BOX I am not sure how long it has been going on or what board it was on but back in Aug of 2008 I saw it mentioned...It is a list of people and then one person started it and put 4 items in it..mailed it to someone on the list..that person gets it in the mail takes out up to 4 things and then has to put back 4 new things, you then mail it to someone new , you tell what you took out BUT not what you put in...the package keeps traveling I received it and took out 3 and put back 3 and it will be mailed on Monday to a person in OH...I am not sure who started it and I had even forgot about it until it arrived...It was great just like the secret pal forum where you get on a list and you get a secret pal for 3 months and each month you send them a package and also send them e-mail and snail mail (reg.mail) I hope this helps Joanneg

The Forever box has arrived in CT and it was full of interesting things...I took out a brown bead necklace, bracelet and earrings.
also gold earrings, and a tin of mango tea yummy!!! The necklace set came at the right time I needed something to match my outfit Thank you sooo much it will be going to OH next I hope you are waiting...

Hi everyone..Well first the great news I have lost 135 lbs..since 4/30/07 when I had the best surgery in my life..the lapband..I was going to have the sagging skin taken off but that has been put on hold because I am scheduled for a complete left hip replacement on Aug. 11th at Hartford Hospital.by Dr Mark Shekhman..So please say prayers for me...Then I will be out of work 6-8 weeks but I will be able to walk, sit, stand and lay down without all this pain..thanks for being there You folks are great.

Hi I had Connecticare and they paid for my lapband surgery on 4/30/07. Dr Tishler at Hartford Hospital did the surgery. She needs to check had see if the policy she has covers it.

Hi I had my latest WOW moment on My 12th wedding anniversary when I got out of the car and my son (who I hadn't seen for almost 2 years) saw me...I saw him right after my lapband surgery then he moved away. He looked at me and then did the 2nd glance and then yelled Holy F^*(^*( **** I did not recognize my own mother...You look wonderful...He asked how much I have lost and Proudly I said 199 lbs I even walked 8 miles in the woods at a Boys Camp in Alpine, NJ were he is a camp ranger. I love my new life...

CTsurgical.com there are a few I am seeeing Dr DeLucia I am now waiting for insurance fora 'panni' saggin skin. He is very pleasant and takes his time. They are at Hartford hosp. and they have an office in Glastonbury.

I hope to see you there. first you sit in the big room I always sit on the left side when you walk in and then in the middle area...by the pole I don't like sitting up front...then afterawhile they break down into group pre-op stay there and post-op lapband in another room and post-op gastric in another one, see you there

Dr Tishler's next meeting is on March 24th the support meetings are great they break up into pre-surgery, post-laband, & post gastric...it's great to talk to folks who know what you are going through You can pm me and I can help with any info you need
