Med Tourism Co's for DS

If you had your DS in Mexico and used one of the all inclusive medical tourism companies, which one did you chose? What was your cost with them? Any regrets? Thanks everyone.

I leave a week from today.  I am using alighterme, and my doc is Alejandro Lopez.  I have found that there aren't many surgeons in MX who are vetted (experienced) DS surgeons. Dr. Ungson, Dr. Acevez, and Dr. Alvarez are the others I have found.  Don't let others from this site push you into only using surgeons from DSFacts.com.  There are others, you just have to do your research.  I have met several people on this site who have used Dr. Lopez, and I have only seen great reports of him and the staff of alighterme.  Send me a friend request and I will keep my page updated as soon as I have surgery done!

You don't need to spend (read that waste) your money with any medical tourism company. Just call the surgeon's office - and yes, I would only recommend Dr. Ungson or Dr. Aceves. Their staff can and will help you arrange everything. Their practices depend heavily on people from the USA and Canada, they want to make it easy for you, and they have lots of experience with the travel aspect of your care.

You don't need to waste your money.  I would only use Ungson and his staff will provide you with everything you need.  I don't care what other people are saying about other surgeons.  I trust Ungson and see no reason to use anyone with less experience. Why would you choose a less experienced surgeon?  To save a few bucks?  Makes no sense to me.

I've called every possible number I can find for Dr.Ungson to get more information BUT all the numbers I am finding are disconnected. Anyone know how I can contact him?

Many have had fabulous experiences with Ungson and his staff.  They really do take care of everything for you.

Those are all the numbers I have tried except for his cell. I'm not sure how to call his cell from my phone. I did email him at that email address so hopefully, they'll get back to me. Thank you.

It is more than "a few bucks"...the $4000 difference was me either getting the surgery or not. People need to realize that DSFacts is not a bible...nor is it 100% up-to-date.  There are other docs, and as if this surgery isn't scary enough we don't need people who are so negative towards other docs that it only makes things worse.  Do more research, and don't criticize those of us who are using a doctor other than Ungson. This "use this doc or die" attitude is really getting on my nerves.

I think you're missing the point---no one here wants you to die, so we're warning you. We have had some folks die because they used an inexperienced surgeon, and we don't want you to be one of them.
