Medicaid DS Question

I'm in KY and have Medicaid.  There is only ONE surgeon in the state that I am able to find that does the DS.  According to her nurse, she only does DS on patients with a BMI or 50 or higher.  Mine is 43.  Sigh.

I cannot use Medicaid outside my state.

Does anyone know of another DS doctor that accepts KY Medicaid?

Sorry I can't help with your question. ..but my suggestion would be to talk directly to the surgeon & express your situation & also explain why the DS is your preferred wls. Hopefully an exception could be made.....good luck

There is an informational seminar being held soon.  I plan to attend that...hopefully I can talk to her at that time.
