Zantac or Pepcid???

Help!!!!!!!!!! 8 days post op, have already spent 3 extra days in hospital due to vomiting and severe dehydration. Had an upper GI and it showed no leaks,blockages, no nothing!! Thank goodness. However, I came home last night and couldn't sleep, had feeling of acid in my throat and made me want to vomit. I threw up for my 2 days at home post op, all 4 times after taking Zantac. They gave me pepcid in the hospital. Has anyone heard of this? I'm really thinking that the Zantac is my problem? Would love feedback

Hi Sherry, Sorry to hear you are having problems. I'm no expert, but they should both be similar drugs. I was having heartburn problems and they gave me a script for prevacid (I think that is the name) and it works great. I hope it gets better for you soon. Lynda ME/FL
