Hi Stephanie, MSI covers the surgery. There is a bit of a wait though, since Dr. MacDonald had retired. But, I think it depends on the situation too. First you go to your family doctor and he has to refer you to Dr. James Ellsmere or Dr. Dennis Klassen. The program isn't fully up and running as of yet. There has been a few lucky souls that have got choosen to have it done. I waited almost 8 years on the waiting list. I had the VSG done by Dr. Klassen and love it. Wishing you well in you journey. I have been thinking of you since I left the hospital. I hope you put in a good night last night. I am praying you will have a good drive home, it was a lot of pain for me..Bumpy roads. I almost want to call the hospital and tell you to take pain meds before you leave, But, I know you will. That was my mistake. It's nice being home, but, the gassss is a killer. I got Kaitlyn to get my some Gas-X strips today. They called for my follow up appointment and it is July 4th. Maybe yours will be close to that and we can meet again Here's to feeling better by the day for both of US! Get lots of rest. But, I know you will. You have an awesome support sytem. I've had three prior stomach surgeries and was fine. It's not the site that hurts it's the gasSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!...Make sure you have pain meds for the drive home. Feeling better by the day..and after u get you dye testing done you will be relieved of the tube out of your nose/throat. and after that it gets better!!! Hugz Donna

I was doing fine with the liquid diet, TILLLLLLLL they called monday and I fell off for that day. It's been three weeks for me, because I thought I'd be smart and start a week early. Hi Deb, I can answer a couple of your questions, I am having WLS at the new Halifax location, May 28th. My first letter sent to me was 7 years ago May 9th. So, the new sergeons are working on the 2001 surgeries. But, I also know that they put more serious patients ahead of others. I would get your doctor to write to these new surgeons.
