Follow-up Doctor visits after WLS?

The surgeons don't get paid to see you after surgery which is why they put the bariatric centres in place for pre and post op care. As someone said earlier you might see them if there's a major problem but that's not even certain.

Oh, I didn't know that about the pay schedule - that seems pretty strange! It would definitely help explain why you're able to see your own doctor for follow-up care. Thanks for the info!

You'll see your doctor from the bariatric centre for follow up for the first five years, then your own doctor.
