Why are kids so frustrating sometimes??? OT

So my 18 yr old son is heading stateside for a school trip for four days...I call Rogers and waste an hour of my life talking with some nasaly tech assistant *****peats everything 5 times (by the third I've zoned her out and can't remember any details) - after much angst, I agree to pay a whopping $115 to get this kid some stateside text, talk and data plan time (very little I might add) so that he can call home, text his pals while down there, find his way around via google maps etc...was he appreciative?  Well, kind of, but along with a thanks comes the complaints about the restrictions, the value of the plan and blah blah blah...Sometimes a simple "thanks mom" would go such a long way.  Sorry for the *****ing, I'm just frustrated.  He is 80% amazing and well, sometimes that 20% just about does me in...Tell me I'm not alone!  Before you all tell me to make him pay his own bills - he does, this was just my way of helping out a bit...

And as moms don't we feel guilty when we underestimate them...even when we were justified to start with!!

Yep I think we all get a bit of that. Just a suggestion - next time he should just buy a pay as you go phone state side with a card. He could get the phone for $60 and a card for $15. I know alot of people who do that going overseas rather than paying roaming charges. And that way the next time he goes to the states he can use the phone again.
