Info Session??

Okay...good thing I've been taking some advice from everyone on here...my referral was sent to Humber River - rec'd - and I called to confirm - they said an "orientation pkg will be sent to you within a few weeks"....so I waited a polite 2 weeks and called back.  Then I was told that an info session is available to me for July 23 9:00-12:00 at the Keele site and that the questionaire will be emailed with the info date/time etc...for me to fill out and bring with me to the Info Session...
Am I on the right track here?  Good thing I didn't sit and "wait" for the orientation pkg I guess...
now...hopefully she took down my email address properly and it is in my mailbox as we speak....

oi...why is the process so confusing???

Good for you calling back in two weeks!  I made the mistake of waiting for almost year (my actual referral was in about March of 2010....yes 2010 first I tried out of country for a shorter waiting list that I found out from someone who did get hers out of country just to find out that they meaning OHIP doesn't do that anymore saying that there is enough funding here in Canada I just missed it) bothering the doctors office everytime I went in just to hear "they haven't contacted you yet?"  Finally I got a call from Guelph saying "you haven't received the info package yet?" I said I haven't gotten anything...anyway finally got the package for the info session scheduled for Aug. of 2011 and now my surgery is scheduled for this Thursday...finally!   I hope it is faster for you and gook luck when it happens!

Hey , I called to see if they had my referral also, I said ok, just wanted to be sure. Turns out they didnt have it, I was told it takes a bit to get to them, but in 2 weeks I will call back as I want to leave nothing to chance. I heard if ya snooze ya loose. Double checking is never a bad thing. But "BIOTCH WHERE IS MY REFERRAL?" Is much more entertaining. Almost fell off my chair when I read that !!! TOO FUNNY

lol Jewel!  If you decide to go that route, video it, throw in a RickRoll for ****es and giggles and post here.
I applaude you ladies for not just playing meek and sitting around waiting.  Make it happen!

well...I'd heard stories of things getting "lost", etc...along the way and I already know that in our health care system, it is always better to be proactive and assertive...which I can be..lol
Jewel - I just very politely asked how her day was going - said "I hope I'm not being buggy, but i just wanted to check the status of my referral process..,."....she was quite pleasant, and did exactly what she said she would - email was waiting for me after I posted on here...

Miss Glitter - does Humber always require a sleep study?  or was this just for your cir****tances?
