Woohoo....Gotta love perserverance!

As a quick refresher, I had struggled to get my doctor to refer me as she thought WLS was too drastic. I finally convinced her and the referral went in. Then the referral was lost. My doctor refaxed it yesterday. The wonderful, awesome Jaclyn at the bariatric registry must have been keeping an eye out for it because I just received this:

 

Hi Melissa,

We have successfully received your referral. It was sent to the Ottawa Hospital for processing. Someone from that site will contact you directly for an appointment. If you have any questions for them, you can reach them directly at 613-761-5101

 

It normally would have taken up to 10 days to process but I had been going back and forth with her for the past couple of weeks. I was polite and thanked her effusively but I told her I just wanted to stay on top of it so I wouldn't get lost in the shuffle. So I guess it paid off. And how nice of her to give me the heads up! Yay!

WTG... best of luck.  I can say it was the best thing I ever did.

Man, I wish I lived near you! LOL. Our referrals went in at the same time but I'll probably be 18 months behind you. Unless I move...heh heh

i went around my family physician through a walk in clinic...i decide my care not him...:)

Yeah, I tried 2 separate clinics as well and neither would refer me. One reason was because he wouldn't offer follow-up care (which isn't needed). Let's just say it was months of disappointment but I perservered. Phew!

All in do time !! We will end up at the same bench any ways But good for you for staying on top!!
