where can I buy calcium citrate in midtown Toronto and other vitamin FAQs
Hi everyone,
As my surgery approaches in 10 days, I am realizing I don't have all the vitamins I need. I keep buying the wrong calcium.
Does anyone know where to get calcium citrate in chewable or liquid form? Does it already have D3 in it?
What multivitamins are people using? The one I bought has tons of sugar!!--dextrose, fructose and sucrose. Sounds like a potential dump in the making.
I didn't realize until I wrote this post that my surgery is 10 days away. On day 12 of optifast and having an Oscar party tonight. Wish me luck!
Thanks for your help.
Do they have chewable multis without sugar at the TWH Shopper's?
Someone at TWH should have told those of us who went to every assessment and seminar there that the Shopper's in the building had bariatric vitamins! No one did.
Jenn. :)
I am using the liquid form which I bought at Costco.

Healthy Planet has liquid Calcium Citrate. It's pretty nasty but I would mix it in with my protein shake and it wasn't too bad.

I get the Wellesse liquid calcium from Costco. It has D3 in it, but I choose to take a D3 spray in addition, simply because I need it. Since you can't borrow a cup of sugar from your neighbors, you might as well borrow their calcium! Meet up with me after work sometime this week and I'll let you try the liquid before you buy it.
As for the multis, I have the best success with the Centrum 50+ chewables. I get those at Loblaws.

Thanks everyone.
Jenn is right, they didn't say much about buying vitamins at TWH and certainly didn't mention that they sell Bariatric Advantage stuff at the Shoppers in the hospital. I don't think I want to venture there if I don't have to--will try the places all of you mentioned.
I don't know what I would do without this forum. Best place to ask questions ever and I don't know what I would do without everyone helping out and supporting each other.
