HELP PLEASE

I went to see a plastic surgeon DR Mcgill..... i was approved by the RAMQ for a lower body lift.... legs and arms......she now wants 10 000$ above the total approval by ramq....why??? i also have private insurance by SUN LIFE thru my job paying 100% of hospital costs.... any advice would be appreciated......

congrats on attaining your goal.  It is wonderful that the RAMQ has approved you for lower body lift. You should post how to go about it for others to learn form your experience.  As for your question. Almost all surgeons doing plastics add an addition cost as they feel that the RAMQ doesn't pay the amount that the specialists feel it costs, hence we as patients end up footing part of the bill. The same happens in Ontario unfortunately.  Maybe your surgeon does and additional procedure that the RAMQ deosn't deem medically necessary.  Who knows with them. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do other than ask around for another estimate. If you are asking your private insurance to cover the costs of the hospital stay is that because you will be in a private hospital? or are you referring to covering the cost of the semi private or private room we pay for? Please keep us posted your experience will help us following you in your footsteps.  I never imagined the ramq would cover a lower body lift.  GOod luck in your journey :)
