No Weight Loss Yet
Hello, this is my first post. I had my surgery on the 1st of April and am not losing any weight yet. I did lose 30 lbs during the pre-op diet. I am 6'1" and I am wondering if I need more protein. I am getting a little over 60 grams of protein a day. My post-op nutrition class is tomorrow and I will ask the nutritionist. That being said I feel fine no nausea or hunger pains. I just started walking around the neighborhood 2 days ago. I can't go very far yet but my knees don't hurt as bad as they used to.

My program told us to stay off the scale for the first two weeks after surgery because our bodies are adjusting from the surgery, we took in a lot of fluids while we were in the hospital, etc. Hang in there, get your fluids and protein in, and keep walking!
If you follow your plan, you will lose. It's not always a straight line.
6'3" tall, male.
Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.
M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.
Surgery is traumatic to the body and it is doing a lot of stuff to repair the "damage". I know I retained a lot of fluid at first in the hospital. But when it broke loose, I was peeing every hour or so.
I know how difficult it is when you first get out and hope for huge loses, and also, having lost 30 during pre-op, you will not lose as much water weight as much of that is already gone.
But hang in there, keep doing what the surgeon said and it will happen.
Best of luck to you.
