How much does an RNY patient eat per meal at 4+ years out?

Calla Lily,

You look great. Just started my weigh loss journey. You inspire me. You are amazing.

I can eat a ton and do so on holidays, yet still manage to maintain a BMI of 22 at over 5 years out. No one can tell I have had weight loss surgery by looking at how much I eat.

I think you should keep your focus on your own eating and not everyone else's.

I ate too much for Easter dinner and felt somewhat miserable for a while after, but overeating a few times a year does not make or break my plan.  I had ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole and corn.  The kind of stuff that goes down easy.

I don't think that kevin was being the food police.  I think he was genuinely asking because he wanted to know if he would be able to eat that amount at 4 years out.  And to answer your question, I believe that you will be able to at 4 years out.  I know it seems like a lot of food to you know, but in 4 years you will probably be able to as well. I wouldn't recommend eating that much, but if you do, just do it wisely.

Kevin Bacon is a "she". Her mother had RNY 4 years ago and she has written about that repeatedly. I assume she is referring to her mom in her post.

Most people I know in real life who have had the sleeve can eat a lot more than I can. And I can eat a lot.

But how can you compare a sleeve to an RNY at 4 years out? I almost think it is useless to even compare an RNY to an RNY 4 years out... At that point your normal is pretty individual to your own anatomy... Pouch size, stoma stretch etc...

This makes me happy! It will be nice to feel normal again and eat more than three bites in a meal

Instead of watching and judging what others eat - why don't you concentrate on what yuou eat and do ?

When I am at family or friends gert together - gathering, I socialize enjoy company and discussion. Last thing on my mind would be trying to "see and judge wehast and how much " someone else " had on their plate.
