Semi-vegan diet
I'm not sure what a "semi-vegan" diet is. I eat an all vegetarian diet, but not a vegan diet. That means I don't eat any meat but I do eat dairy products and occasionally eggs. A vegan diet contains no animal products at all, so no meat, eggs or dairy.
I get my protein mainly from dairy and beans. I occasionally eat free range eggs from a local farm but not often. I buy them maybe a couple times a year. I eat some meat substitutes like veggie burgers and soy crumbles instead of ground beef. I also love almond butter and I eat some other nuts. The PETA website has tons of info about a vegetarian diet and there is a whole series of articles on Bariatricfoodie.com about a vegetarian diet after WLS (I wrote them!).
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
I am a Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian. I eat at least 100 grams of protein a day. I eat dairy products that are no fat/low fat. I eat simple (dairy, fruit) and complex (beans, vegetables, whole grains) carbohydrates (I do not count daily grams). I also eat eggs occasionally. Please see my profile page if interested.
