Eve of AMAW & AMAW-C - STARTING MONDAY AUGUST 22ND!

There is no way I could do AMAW forever, but I think it's very useful for me to kick the bad carb cycle.  My goal is to stay under 50g a day on a regular basis and the last few weeks I've been hitting 80 to 100+ a day.  So, one week of going super low carb to get my head back into the game is what I like.

You can maintain your level of carbs, and I just have a hard time maintaining the balance, so I need a reset.  Respect to you, Shauna, for having the willpower.

I have the willpower sometimes. Currently everything in my will wants to see if the pumpkin muffin is back at dunkin donuts yet.

I've always been liberal with my carbs and accept the trade off that it'll likely take me longer to reach my goal. I pay more attention to the source of my carbs-- an apple is better than a pumpkin muffin (or so I'm trying to convince myself as i eat my apple...)

But I **hope** that my approach makes for a smoother transition to maintenance; I don't anticipate much change with what I'm eating.

Personally Peach for me to eat meat for one whole week, 5 days out of my whole life is not going to make or break me.  I personally love meat, I loved it pre surgery and have no plans on changing it.  I am very healthy, other than my Iron levels my labs are great.

I do this challenge because its fun, it only lasts 5 days and it brings people together, if anything I love that we come together as a community and have a goal together and are supportive of one another. That is what this is all about for me, love & support from our fellow OHers.

And I can assure you what got me Obese in the first place was not bacon, tuna, chicken, shrimp & steak, it was the EXCESSIVE cake, cookies, chocolate and bread that put me on the road to needing WLS.

I am fully aware that this fun week of AMAW is not for everyone and I respect that you have a meal plan that works for you and your WLS journey. If its working for you, don't change it

Cheers,

Daisy

Here we go!  Yesterday I prepped.  I tend toward mindless eating...meaning that if food is within my reach, it will be consumed without me realizing it (I'm working on that!)  So for this week, only meat must be within my reach.  I prepped a lot of flavorful, easy to portion and reheat foods...stuff that I can grab without worrying about cooking it.  Ready-to-go meat fest, as it is ;)  That being said, yikes!, this is by no means a low fat/low cal meat fest.  Here is a list of what I prepared yesterday:

Pork Roll (Is this an east coast thing?  If so, sorry, you may be missing out!)

Bacon

Steak

Taco meat

Sloppy Joe mix

Cajun chicken sausage

Turkey kielbasa

Beef summer sausage

Shrimp

Tuna

WOW that is awesome, I am drooling looking at all that meat!! FANTASTIC job Luvn!!!!

And yes you will have to educate this Canadian girl on what a "Pork Roll" is, it sounds fantastic!!!

Hope this fun challenge helps with your "mindless" eating. For me I find the protein fillls me up so much I am not hungry and therefore not wandering in and out of the kitchen looking for things to nibble on.

GOOD LUCK, you have an awesome start so far!!!

Mike totally up to you if you still want to join!  Happy to have you along.  Just tell me which one you want to be in AMAW or AMAW-C?

You can start tomorrow if you want and if you feel its too much prep then next time for sure!
