Good morning, Tuesday.     My son ended up going to the fair with his friend last night, so I got to stay home in a quiet house.  Ah...  And even though I reminded my husband eleventy billion times, I didn't get my deep fried Oreo.  In hindsight, that's probably for the best, anyway.  LOL  He's working the booth again today, but is leaving straight from there with the boy to his friend's camp on Lake Ontario, so I get yet another evening to myself.   And no chance for the elusive Oreo.

QOTD!  Do you like to fly?  I'm not particularly a fan of airplanes, and I haven't been on one since 2004.  Not on purpose, really; we just never go anywhere that requires a flight.  Well, no that's not true.  Matt's flown for work and USMC stuff, but I stay firmly on the ground.  LOL

Time since surgery:  2+ years

B:  pepperoni slices and cheese cubes

S:  smoked mussels and 34 Degree cracked pepper crackers

L:  shrimp with ****tail sauce and a string cheese.  Maybe some pork rinds, too.

D:  taco salad

TOTALS:  Cals:  879  Protein:  93  Carbs:  25  Fat:  47

Have a great day everyone!

AV- it is probably for the best. I've had one it is very good but gave me the toots. lol

Went to a store called ollies last night. I got a package of jerky seasoning that you can put on meat and make in your oven! Can't wait! also found coffee for $2.99, stevia sugar for $3.49 and grain free dog treats for the pups. it was exciting but needed more time there. might go back tomm when DH goes back into the other town.

never made jerky before- open to suggestions

still have a million apples and pears to deal with. I think i need to get a mandolin to slice for apple rings baked.

QOTD: I don't mind flying-the takeoff almost always makes me fall asleep. its just an annoying hassle- i usually travel for work and we don't fly much for personal trips.

Here is what I ate yesterday- been trying to shake it up a bit- and use up my protein powders before they expire- BTW- the GNC wheybolic powder mixes very well with decaf:

B: CM milk/gnc whey powder/3 oz ham/decaf

L:chicken gizzard/curry ketchup

D: grilled chicken breast

S: gnc wheybolic 1/2 scoop/seaweed snacks/1/4 lift/sugar snap peas/salsa/CM milk/GNC wheybolic powder/CM yogurt/reddi whip/1/4 serving kays naturals cookie

We do homemade jerky ALL THE TIME.  But we have a Dehydrator and always use ground beef (93% lean) with this awesome, handy tool jerky gun

So never have made it in the oven

we got a dehydrator for christmas and hubby has made jerky a couple of times using ground beef.  It's really yummy and I like the texture.  I think I'm going to have to make some turkey jerky soon, since I'm home all the time and it will be easier for me to manage through the day.

Yeah it ends up being SO MUCH CHEAPER to make jerky at home!!  I let hubby do all the jerky making, he enjoys it, and really...I do ALL of the other cooking/prepping/shopping etc...he can handle making jerky once every few months! LOL

Good Morning! Regarding your Oreo and yesterday qotd (missed due to work crisis - unfortunate food reward to self at final end of day - gotta figure out how to Not do that):  I've never been to MO State Fair in Sedalia, MO. But if I knew for sure I could get a deep fried Reese's PB Cup and only eat One, I might go someday. Ha.

Today QOTD: Nervous wreck flying, repetitive Hail-Marys on takeoff, constant yawn to try to save ears, don't fly often, but love getting where I'm going because it's almost always for fun, not work.  Plan for Italy 2017.
