well my surgeon says the classic times for stalls are at about 3 weeks and again at 6 months. so whats happening to you is pretty normal even though annoying. all i can say is keep at it and it will move. the last 10 or 15 are the hardest they say. i would stay at the 700 cal and just do what you are doing. i mean, there is no other option and eventually the weight has gotta give. we forget that our bodies don't tally up everything at midnight and make an adjustment like an accountant. so you have my sympathies for your frustration. and start tracking food if you haven't before. may learn some things that help you. you will lose more weight. you are not done at 6 months. i am sure. D

That is interesting. I knew about the 3 week stall (I had mine at 5 weeks so I was expecting it, the only other stall I've had!) but I didn't know about a 6 month stall.

I have the same thinking - that eventually I HAVE to lose weight on this amount of calories/food, but then my emotions get the best of me and I start panicking.

The body is a weird and mysterious thing.

I hear you...I been there. I stalled for 5 1/2 weeks at 6 months out. Only started loosing again a couple of weeks ago.

Something that helped me was a saying from a support group. There's three golden "P" rules to Weight Loss.

Patience, Persistence and Perserverence

Don't worry...Your stall shall pass.

When I went for my 6 month post-op visit last month, the surgeon told me to expect a slow down in weight loss.  He warned me to not get discouraged.  It's hard not to, but I'm in week 2 of a stall.  I seem to have this pattern now....stall 3 weeks, lose 5-6 lb, then stall again for 3 weeks.  I'm hoping after another week of this, I'll lose that 5-6 lb again (actually hoping for 7 because then I'll be in onederland!).

Hang in there.  Keep doing what you;re doing.  Like someone else said, it's harder to lose when we weigh less than we used to.  I think we got used to seeing the scale move downward almost daily, so it makes it that much harder to see it not move at all.

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Mandy, I talked to a surgeon yesterday who will do my revision (after I get through all the insurance coverage crap) and he reminded me that simple exercise is not enough when you're taking in so few calories. Something about weight training being the only way to lose once you get beyond a certain point.  Notice I said "something about" because as soon as someone starts talking about exercise, my brain goes flat line.  Love ya!

My Dr. told me the same thing...he said I should do interval training on the treadmill (fast, slower, fast slower) and also weights.

Mandy, I had my surgery 3/8/10 and started a 3 week stall on 8/16, then lost 6 pounds over Labor Day weekend. I'm stalled AGAIN and hoping to drop some more next week. I work out at least 45 minutes 5 days a week, whi*****ludes some strength training and still the stalls! This is actually the losing pattern I've seen when I've lost weight in the past. Nothing or minimal losses for 2 to 3 weeks then a big loss. I think it follows the pattern of my monthly cycles.
