I have been lactose intolerant for several years prior to surgery.  I like the Lactaid milk, fat free is similar to 2% in consistency and tastes great.  I take the Lactaid pills on the rare occasion that I eat ice cream.

A couple of weeks after my surgery I started having problems with lactose intolerance - mad rushes to sit on the toilet.  After my liquid diet was over, I avoided most milk products except for greek yogurt and cheese.  Those didn't seem to give me much of a problem.  Now I can usually have milk products without much trouble.

Luckily I have not had any problems so far.  I hope I don't because I like them too much.

I am not Lactose Intolerant. I was tested prior to my surgery because of other gastric problems. Post surgery I can eat yogurt, pudding and cheese just fine. But, since Day 1 post op, I can not drink anything milky. They were giving me milk based protein drinks in the hospital, and the thought of even putting them in my mouth made me want to vomit. I did drink a little bit of them, knowing that I needed to take in protein and thinking I didnt have anyother options. I dont know how I didnt throw up. Anyway, they switched me to grape flavored Liquacel. Its a water based protein drink, and I can drink that just fine. I know some people do become lactose intolerant post op...

I was slightly intolerant to milk before the surgary. Now, Milk is out, and just about anything with milk in it. A blessing in disguise since I used to have a Ice creme problem, It makes me sick now.  Yogart and cheese seem to work without any issue though.

None at all.  I have heard of many people having problems with this post surgery.  I love my milk and cheese
