Having a BM post-op

How long did it take? It's been 5 days for me.

Don't let it go much longer or you'll regret it.  If your doc didn't give you a recommendation for how to handle constipation, call and see what they say.  For most of us, it's milk of magnesia to get it going.  Then colace or magnesium or benefiber or a combination to keep things normal.

A week.. but I also had some "accidents" following Milk of Magnesium IN hosp. Thank goodness for depends. LOL
but I was on clear liquids due to vomiting 4 days..

After the week it started to happen more frequently but not daily. Surgeon said to use Milk Mag if it goes too long w/o one.

 What gets mine going is my protein shake lol.  Every time I drink it, off to bathroom I go.  Funny thing is I like this one as far as taste and I really don't want  to find another one.  It was like 3-4 days before I drank my protein and I was about to buy baby prunes per instructions from my Dr. when my protein got it moving.  Now the other issue, reaching to wipe (TMI I know) lol  Kerry

tmi alert- i'm a month out and mine are still... not solid. gross, i know. i haven't taken anything like milk of magnesia. i'm hoping i'm normal. i've also had a 3 week long period. my body is freaking out. lol. but i lost 30 pounds in a month, so i guess i can;t blame it...
