Sleeve? vets please/ diabetis and rh
Let me start by saying most of my research has been on rny but now
I've found out that I can have the sleeve which is what I originally wanted
My main concern is my health now but mostly long term
I have type2 diabetis now as well as siblings(they are normal weight). I hope to eliminate this or curb it with this surgery. I am also worried about retroactive gylcemia which seems to be common with rny further out. Any help would be helpful especially those who are in the maintenance phase of your jouney

I just had surgery 8/22 and I was taken off my diabetes meds actually during my pre-op diet. I have not had to take any yet. Thanks be to God, my fasting blood sugar dropped from about 110 on meds to about 70 without meds. I think this is a really good sign!
That said, my diabetes was just over borderline status and I was just recently diagnosed.

Hi, I just had my surgery 9/6/11, and I left the hospital with no more diabetes meds andhigh blood pressure meds. I was on 2000 metformin a day, My main reason for this surgery, and I am so happy now to not take those meds anymore, I even monitor to be sure and everything is normal. Good luck to you.
