Pigging Out

I'm an RN, and I worked in a heart and lung transplant ICU, and I decided earlier this year that the stress level was not worth it and not healthy for me.  I am now on a regular surgical floor, and while many of my old colleagues expected me to be bored out of my mind, truthfully the lower stress level is completely refreshing, and I enjoy nursing more.

Aside from that, one thing I found that really helps me fight the fast food urge while in the car and dealing with emotion is deep slow breathing, and consciously relaxing my jaw and shoulders (where I tense up the most when stressed).  Sometimes on the out breaths, I'd imagine the negative stuff flowing out and away.   The deep breathing is an amazing tension/stress reliever for me.

Thank you guys for all of your suggestions. I will try to start incorporating some now so that I will be ready when I have my surgery. Nurses Rock!
