TOM and weightloss farther out (good info for newbie gals)
Hi! I'm 8 months out now, and have noticed something.
My TOM did not really impact my weightloss much the first 6 months. I pretty much consistently lost 2-3 lbs a week, every week.
Around month 6, my weightloss really started slowing down around my TOM. I now either don't lose anything that week, or lose something like half a pound. It's worse if I eat saltier foods (of course ).
The cool thing is that if I continue to stay on plan, eating, drinking, and working out like I should... I lose a good amount the following week
In summary, you might start noticing a slowdown around your TOM, but STAY THE COURSE! If you stay on plan, your weightloss will continue eventually!

My personal theory on this (I work the same as you) is that during our TOM we are still losing fat but gaining water. They offset each other and we look like we're not losing. After our TOM, when the water goes away, suddenly we see the results of the fat we lost so we appear to have an extra special good week.
Some folks don't pack on the water, some do. Some actually gain weight because they put on soooo much water.
Remember ladies: If you're eating under 1000 calories a day, you CAN NOT POSSIBLY gain a pound of fat in a day or two. If you shoot up like that, it has to be water!

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22
175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012
I lose nothing (or slight gain) from day 1 to day 7, and then slow loss fro day 8 to about day 16, followed by quick loss from day 17-27. My cycle has regulated somewhat, since 7 months postop. I was swinging between 23 and 32 days before that. That's when I started to notice the TOM effect. I actually track it (because I'm ridiculously type 'a').
