I don't think I could fit 8 oz of chili in @ 6 months out.  (Too filling for me).  Each sleeve is different - I would just make sure I'm eating very slowly (especially after the first 1/4 cup) so that I didn't over fill.  I think I could handle about 4 oz of chili myself.

Hope this helps!

I'm almost 5 months out and I can barely eat 2 ounces. 8 seems like a lot- especially if it's all in one meal.

That does seem like quite a bit.

Do you mean 8 oz by weight or volume (1 cup)?

Of course it depends on how much was meat (dense protein), how much was beans (less dense) and how much was stewed tomatoes and liquid, but even if it was quite liquidy I couldn't eat that much at not quite 8 months.

My capacity for mixed and moist foods is higher than my capacity for dense protein, but I think half a cup would be a little bit of a challenge for me.

One thing I learned from Frisco is NOT to challenge my sleeve. Measure out a portion that will satisfy you and stop when you're satisfied rather than full. It takes a while to easily recognize that point, but if you're mindful you'll learn. I've followed this rule faithfully since the first time I read it here and it has made a difference, I believe, not only in the amount I do eat but in the amount I can eat.

Maybe it's a slider for you? I can only do about 4 oz, it fills me. Also over what time period? I could get 8 oz in if I ate 4 oz, waited 20 minutes and ate 4 more. But that's a no-no

Everyone's "sliders" will be different. I heard someone here saying popcorn was a slider for them, I had some thing weekend, OMG it filled me. Nuts are a slider for me, but filling for others.

So if you were able to get it down quickly, I'd assume it's a slider. All that means is that your body allows it out of the stomach quickly.

Thanks everyone...The actual size was a cup when I measured but I was not able to finish but was just wondering...I am finding it very very difficult when people say they can only eat 2 oz I do find myself testing myself and can get in well over 2 oz but I guess everyone is different.... Just like when people say oOOooo I dont get hungry what a lie i think I get hungry all the time now I did speak with my doctor and they stated to stop eating crackers I am feeling and doing a lot better like not throwing up anymore but I still feel hungry at times :(

If you're getting hungry - 1. are you on a PPI or acid reducer (stomach acid feels like hunger); 2. are you getting enough water (dehydration mimics hunger); 3. are you eating dense protein and not drinking after meals?  #3 in particular makes a big difference - the denser the protein and the longer you hold off drinking after your meal, the longer you stay full.

Chili is pretty liquidy, and probably moves through quickly.  But, your best bet is to measure and eat no more than you measure out.
