Dang having the hiccups is so hard! Normally I would drink water but now that does not help. What do you do to get rid of the hiccups?

When I saw the Topic I thought OMGosh those thing hurt post op. As for getting rid of them not real sure. I did find the cause of mine sometimes was eating or drinking to fast or eating a bit too much. Maybe try to figure out what the cause is.

They do hurt a little! It is probably from eating too fast still getting used to that.

I'm only 5 days post op and my papers said to call the surgeon if I got hiccups. That might not be needed 2 weeks post op but it never hurts to call!

Best of luck and please let us know what they say!

I checked my book and there was nothing in there about the hiccups. They did go away eventually - I found that deep breaths helped. Thanks!

Yes, I got them for the first time since surgery last night and it wasn't fun! I think it was from eating too fast. For me, it was just a "wait it out" kind of situation...water didn't help and neither did anything else. Had them for about 20 minutes!

Its your new full.  eat less or drink less.  you have to wait it out and it will go away.
hiccups means you might be over stuffed or just plain full.
