OT - Hubby returning from deployment in time for my surgery!!!

I can't help but share some great news with ya'll, my extended OH family.  My husband is returning from a six month deployment today.  I've known for some time that he was coming home today but I wasn't allowed to talk about it but now I can.. and WOOT WOOT I'm super exicted he'll be home for both myself and my daughter.  But i'm happy to know that he is very supportive of this surgery.  

We have had a very rocky marriage the last 4-5 years.  But this deployment has given us both time to really think about our lives.  I decided about two months into his deployment to reserach WLS and I knew I had some deep seated issues that were not only affecting my weight but also my marriage so when I made the decision to do the surgery I also went into counseling.  Without boring you all of the dirty details of my marriage, my hubby had a horrfic childhood and thought he needed to make up stories about himself to make people love him because his family didn't.  Well the time away from home has made him realize how hurtful his actions were and he's made the decsion to go into counseling as well!  :-)  

Needless to say, when I say this surgery is my rebirth.  I mean it on all types of levels.  I'll be healthy again. I know that WLS won't fix my issues with my marriage.  But what I do know is that I'll be okay whatever the outcome because I will be alive and healthy!!  

(PS being able to post such personal issues that I usually don't talk about has been a HUGE help in my recovery.  Thank you for reading it even if you don't respond!!!)

Oh Good luck on the surgery and the homecomming....still going through the whole reintegration process....can  totally relate...especially with the marriage stuff. So happy for you on getting  your surgery!

 Thank you so much!  For the first time in my almost 9 years of marriage, I'm not worried about the reintegration process because for the first time I'm focused on ME, not my daughter, not my husband, not my students.  But TONYA.   It's about time I found myself.

I'm so happy that you've taken the steps to make yourself healthy BEFORE surgery. and that will go a long way to your recovery. :)

and YAY! for hubby's safe return. That alone is something to celebrate as well.
