annoying insurance question

Hey just wondering how long it took for insurance approval after all the paperwork was submitted. Thanks!

Well I have UHC and they have been annoying. Paperwork has been submitted on the 2nd and they have called me several times and said I should know something next week, so lets hope!

Legally they have 30days to answer your request for authorization. My coordinator said my insurance usually takes most of the 30 days. My paper work was submitted on the 2nd so I'm hoping by new years I know!

But I've hear as little as 1 week to hear back.

12/03/11 paperwork was submitted to UHC
12/12/11 called UHC to check status and vebally told me both surgeries approved
12/17/11 received written letter in US Mail of lap band removal approval
 TBD        yet to receive written letter in US Mail of sleeve approval

I have a plan called cdphp it took three days! I dont think they are the norm I think it's about 7-14 days? The surgeons office can tell you about your particular ins

Took 8 days with Aetna.

Not long at all, but technically they do have 30 days to respond.

I have UHC, and I was approved in 3 days.

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield  and I heard back from my case coordinator in less than a week - keep your head up - they didn't forget about you :)

I also have BCBS and heard back in less than a week -- much faster than I expected!

I have BCBS and it took 4 days from submission of paperwork to approval. Good Luck
