Not loosing fast enough

I had surgery on March 1st and I don't think I'm loosing fast enough.  Here is a sample of what I eat.

B: Protein Shake - 30 g
S: 1/4 can of sardines with maybe 5 croutons
L: Hot & Sour Soup 1/2 cup
S: Garlic & Herb Tuna (1oz)
D: Protein Shake - 35 g

I generally get in 70-80 g of protein, calories range from 600-725.  Water is hard for me though, so I may get in like 30oz of water (please give me suggestins on how to get more down).  I've even tried drinking out of 3 oz cups at a time.  The majority of my calories come from the protein shakes maybe like 300-330 cal.  I have worked out a few times, but want to get the cortisone shots in my feet first - I have Plantar Faciiatis.

My fitness pal is suitebliss if you'd like to view my daily food log.

Thanks in advance

So you've lost 24 pounds in just over a month?

I think that's great! What makes you say it's not enough?

If you want to up your fluid intake, can you try sf popsicles or sf jello? Also, does your dr allow you to count protein shakes as fluid? Apparently most do, based on what I have read here.

Keep moving forward. You really are doing great.

24lbs in a month is great! What were you expecting to lose? Think about it, when is the last time you lost that kind of weight that fast. Don't be so hard on yourself you are doing great!

First and foremost you should not compare your journey to others.  That being said losing 23lbs in your first month is right on schedule.

As far as your water intake - definitely need to up that.  Have you tried various flavors of cyrstal light, or herbal tea.  You may also try different temperatures of water - ice cold, refrigerator cold, room temp.  But definitely need to get much closer to 64oz.

Last but not least - the soup.  That may be high in sodium which will cause water retention.  Perhaps consider a different type of soup?  Also I am guessing here but the sardines are also probably high in sodium.

At 18 months out I am 5lbs from my personal goal - and I know it will come in time.  No matter what happens I am far healthier then I was 18 months ago.

Best of luck...and be patient - this is a marathon not a sprint!

I had a hard time at first but when you look down the road at how much you lost in total in the short time frame you are shocked but when I looked at the amount each month I was like blah not enough. This will totally play mind games with you for awhile yet.

I would try to cut out the snacks if you are having a hard time in getting in your water, if you are waiting 30 mins prior and 1 hr after eating your meals to get your water in, these snacks are limiting your time to get the water in.

I guees you guys are right I have to be more patient.  I eat the snacks to try to drink water because its hard for me to drink water on an empty stomach.  What are some soups lower in sodium?

Every since surgery the sf drinks just don't do it for me.  I used to drink them all the time, but now they are not appealing at all.

I would look for low sodium broths.  As far as the sf drinks go I water mine way down.  Instead of the usual 16oz of water I use 20oz of water.  I also love herbal peppermint tea sweetened with splenda.  I have never tried MIO but have heard good things about it.
