How Long Out Of Work?!
VSG on 04/25/12
I get sleeved on Wednesday 4/25/12 and will be returning on Monday 4/30/2012. Is this enough time for me to got back to my position as a receptionist. My employer is aware that I wont be able to lift things and ill mostly be answering the phone. I know everyone is different but what was your experience.

I was also out for 6 weeks and I needed it. It took me that long to feel like I could stay up all day (took even longer for the energy to come back), eat enough to not feel dizzy, walk more than a short distance, etc. I drive a lot and lift things in my job - maybe could have gone back at 4-5 weeks if my job was very sedentary. I find most surgeons are unrealistic about time off from work and not everyone has a quick and easy recovery. There are many here who went back to work quickly but I wish I had had more realistic expectations.
I took 6 weeks off and sooo glad I did. It was more for my emotional healing than physical. I am thankful that I took that long and would not change it if I had to do it over again. I do know of people that went back to work much sooner and still did well so its a personal choice! Sending positive vibes your way and praying all goes well.
