I have heard a lot about people having to have their gall bladder removed post WLS. Is there anything that can be done during weight loss to prevent this from happening?

I found out too late that there may be a drug. Someone may mention it. Supposedly, it is effective in reducing chance of developing gall stones.

I was on the med - Urosodiol. Still had my gallbladder out last week. Unfortunately the pain on my right side is still there - sucks.

Thank you so much for all of your responses. I will ask the doc about the med. I would like to try to avoid having it removed if at all possible.
