Has anyone read any good books on VSG (or WLS) that they found really helpful?

I can recommend Dr. Guillermo Alvarez's book on the Gastric Sleeve (buy it at www.thegastgricsleeve.com). Kind of reptitious, but Dr. Alvarez gives very clear explanations and also seems very compassionate about bariatric patients.

Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies is good as an overview of bariatric surgery.

And of course, my own book is fabulous, and not just for bandsters, either.

You're going to hear how the operation fixes your body and not your mind, and how changes will literally be happening faster to your body than your mind and self-image can keep up with.  You will even hear tales of how WLS "ruined my marriage" or killed relationships.

I think this is one of the few, if only, books that deal with the mental processes after WLS.  I highly recommend that everyone read it, regardless of wihch surgery they are having.

Awesome - please let me know what you think about it after you read it.  For instance, I didn't understand how WLS can cause marriages/relationships to fail until I read it - but now it makes perfect sense.
