Hi everyone. I am just over 4 weeks postop. I have a question abou****er. before surgery I was a big water drinker and I find since surgery I can't drink my water plain. I use Mio or crystal light. does this go back to normal farther down the road? I appreciate any comments.

I am 6 months out & water still tastes funny (off) to me, usually a squirt of lemon or lime juice takes care of it

Did for me. I loved cold plain water before surgery. After, I couldn't stomach it, at any temperature. I ended up using crystal light exclusively, which I hated before surgery. Now at 5 months out, suddenly the crystal light is too sweet and I feel sick with it, so I have gone back to ice cold plain water again. This time no problems, unless I drink too quickly. I am so happy I can save money from the crystal light and can enjoy my water again. Just in time for the warm weather to hit too. Hope it works out the same way for you too.

Plain water gives me insane heartburn. Can't tolerate it AT ALL. I have to mix it with other stuff and it still bothers me.

I'm the same way. I'm six, almost seven months out and it is rare for me to drink just plain water. Especially first thing in the morning is just doesnt seem to settle well on my stomach. And it's easier for me to get my required water in if I use crystal light.
