5 days out and confused

Hi everyone! I was sleeved on 5/30/12. I was up and walking up and down the hospital hallways an hour after surgery. I had no pain. Took no pain killers. Was sitting Indian style on my hospital bed. Slept on my side. No nausea. Went home the next day Did my surgeon really sleeve me????!!!!!??? I'm not complaining but I cannot believe how I am feeling. I was tired only one day, which was Friday and I took a long nap. I've been going out and doing errands. Had tea with friends at Starbucks. Went to a friends house and spent 8 hours out of the house yesterday. Play with my dog. Is this normal? My biggest complaint is that I get a little cranky because I'm hungry and I can't eat yet. Again I'm not complaining but I'm almost worried that the damn surgey didn't "work" or something because i dont feel what most people feel. I'm wondering how I'm going to feel when I start eating. As of right now, If I had to guess how I would feel if I ate, I would venture to say that I wouldn't feel restricted. Does anyone have any words for me? By the way, this is the very first surgery I have ever had.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Like I said TWICE in my post, I am NOT complaining Eric. And I have thanked the lord. I was just simply asking what people thought. That's what this forum is for. I apologize if my post came off as stupid or annoying to you.
I don't think there is a normal - everyone is a little different. Be happy that your journey has had such a smooth start - lots have a very rough road.
You will know that you had the surgery and it was very effective when you get to have some dense protein and get full after a couple of bites! Congrats on a great beginning!

You will definitely feel a difference when you start eating. Right now everything is going straight through you... liquids don't fill us up the way dense protein does.
My husband's recovery was similar to yours, so it's not unheard of. I envied him when I was recovering because I thought mine would be as easy as his... nope! It wasn't terrible, but I definitely felt like I had had surgery.
Congrats on such a smooth start!

Sounds like my recovery and I've never had a problem/complication since (almost 9 months postop). You and I are lucky.

My advice: say a little Thank You prayer to the good Lord above!
I thought my recovery was a breeze, but your recovery beats the heck out of mine! Truly, be thankful. You are one lucky chic!
Stick with your plan. Don't even think about restriction until you are well into solids. If you weigh/measure your food you most likely won't feel much restriction in the beginning. No worries-it's there. Believe me, I know!
