I was sleeved on 5/30/12, so just a little over a week. I'm on liquids. I can drink 90 ounces or more per day with no problem.  I take fairly normal sips (not gulps) but normal sips.  I feel no problem or restriction. I feel no difference in drinking from before my surgery. Is this ok? Can liquids stretch the sleeve? I did tell my dr that I was drinking 90 ounces a day and he said "great!". Thanks.

My dietician said liquids in, liquids out.. that they have no substance and go right through you.. you are staying hydrated and that is a good thing!!! :)

No liquids can not stretch the sleeve.  Keep on drinking, its good for you.

I know a  lot of people have trouble getting liquid in early on, but I didn't either.  I've always been able to drink just the same as I did before surgery.  But there's nothing to worry about, as liquids just flow through the sleeve and don't stretch it at all.  You are just one of the fortunate ones!

Liquids won't stretch your sleeve, and you probably won't feel restriction until you start solids.
